I have been the owner of Uptown Animal Hospital since 2010 and it has been such a great experience!

I was born and raised in Southern California and currently reside in Signal Hill. I received my bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of California, Santa Barbara and went to Ross University where I obtained my doctorate in veterinary medicine. I have been working in veterinary hospitals since I was 16 years old and I love working with both dogs and cats in  all aspects of medicine.

In my spare time I am chasing my little boy, Remy, around and enjoying time with my husband and our two dogs.  I also enjoy knitting and reading.  I look forward to meeting you and your pets and establishing a long healthy relationship with you!

I attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine on the Caribbean Island of St. Kitts with my clinical year being completed at the University of Missouri.

Following graduation I moved to Nevada and practiced in North Las Vegas for several years before returning to the coastal breezes of sunny Southern California.

In my free time I enjoy any outdoor activity, scuba diving, traveling and wine tasting.

Hi, my name is Anna.  I started working at Uptown Animal Hospital in June 2015.  After starting my first job working at an animal hospital I knew I wanted to become a registered veterinary technician.  I went to Carrington College in Northern California where I was born and raised.  I received my associates degree in Veterinary Technology and recently became a licensed veterinary technician!  I really enjoy assisting the doctors and taking care of all the patients.  I currently have one dog “Poppy” and two sweet cats named “Sylvester” and “Misty”.  I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members soon!

I’ve been with Uptown Animal Hospital since 1991. The best part of my day is working with our clients. It’s my hope that every client and patient feels welcomed.

I enjoy working at Uptown Animal Hospital because of the good medical care our patients receive and all the hard work the Uptown team offers!

Hello, my name is Det (pronounced “Date”).

I have worked at Uptown Animal Hospital as a Client Care Specialist since 2006.  As a child, I was always surrounded by a lot of pets. I owned a dog, cat, frog, guinea pig, four love-birds, and a dozen fish. I also spent a lot of time collecting bugs! I currently own two cats:  a feral cat I rescued from the streets named Sassey and Honey whom I’ve adopted while working here at Uptown.

Growing up, I always hoped to find a job that in some way involved working with animals. My wish was granted when I was hired onto the Uptown Team. As a Client Care Specialist, my duties include: answering calls, scheduling appointments, signing in and charging out clients, and answering any general questions.

During my free time, I enjoy visiting any pets that are boarding with us or comforting a pet that is being hospitalized…whatever I can do to make their stay as pleasant as possible!  It is very important to me to make sure the needs of both pet and their owners are met at all times.  I am proud to be part of a team that is devoted to providing our patients with skilled, professional, and high-quality veterinary medical care. I look forward to seeing you at Uptown!

I have been working at Uptown Animal Hospital since 2005 as a Client Care Specialist.

As the first point of contact for the client and patient I am dedicated to making sure you feel comfortable and welcome. I am also responsible for our prescription diets for your pet’s individual health needs. I enjoy working with our clients and I’m here to support you throughout the treatment process with prompt answers, information and respect.

At Uptown Animal Hospital, my highest priority is a satisfied & well informed owner. You are important to us and you can expect us to go the extra mile for your pet! Superior customer service is the hallmark of Uptown Animal Hospital.

I love working with animals and every day I look forward to coming to work to see our four-legged friends! My pets include two dogs Marla, Sasha and a cat named Sarah.

Tammy Mills, Ward Attendant

Hi, I’m Tammy.

I’ve been with Uptown since 1999. I love animals and have two rescue cats, “Kitty” and “Fred.”

I take great care of the pets that board here, giving each one the attention they need and deserve while they are away from their homes and people. I feed, water, medicate, walk and clean up after them, and I keep a close eye on the animals that are recovering from surgery, as well.

I hold pets for exams by the veterinarians and treatments by the technicians, so that everyone (including the humans) remains safe and unhurt. I make sure to treat all of our clients’ pets the way I would want my own pets treated, so my job also includes dispensing unlimited love and hugs to them!

Hi. My name is Wynetta. I received my Certificate in Animal Care from the Long Beach Unified School District ROP Program in 2008 and have been working at Uptown Animal Hospital since May of 2006.

My responsibilities are to make sure your cats and dogs are clean and fed, and to make them feel loved and comfortable during their stay with us. I also assist the Doctor’s and Vet Tech’s with exams, x-rays, prepping for surgery and holding for procedures.

I have been coming to work with my mom since I was a puppy. I really enjoy making the staff smile and welcoming all the pets and their humans that come through the door.

Since my rescue from the streets at about 8 weeks old I’ve been working under Stella’s mentorship here at Uptown. Not listening to my big sister, I usually will greet you with a bark but am truly happy to see you and love coming to work!
